Due to Circumstances Beyond Our Control …

… this week’s blog post is cancelled.

“WordPress is easy!”, they said.

“You will be up and running in no time!” they said.

“It’s so easy, a 5-year old could do it,” they said.

When will I ever learn to stop listening to that amorphous group called “they”.

Actually, WordPress isn’t the problem. I have spent the better part of this week migrating the blog from its old hosting service to the WordPress host. All under one umbrella, right? Easy peasy.

Nope.

To make a long story longer, everything is fixed. Quill & Crypt is 100% migrated. But the time it took in chat rooms with both WordPress and my old hosting site AT THE SAME TIME, going back and forth between the two relaying messages and getting a debilitating side-to-side whiplash – left insufficient time for research.

But fear not! We’ll be back next week, seeking dark and beautiful things while Nature slumbers and waits for warmer times.

Meanwhile, some random ephemera from my laptop to amuse you.

I love unique cat artwork
Me, banging out the next post for your enjoyment
I know keith’s been around a long time but damn ….
My question is, how does calvin know what bat barf smells like??? these questions keep me awake at night.
cats. cats are nice.
I hate golf.
Ain’t he a cutie?
“I wish I may, I wish I might … get some goddamned sleep tonight!”

And last but not least …

Helmet of King Redwald of East Anglia. I have stood before this exquisite artifact for forty minutes in the british museum and marveled that something so old (early 7th century, discovered in 1939) could survive in this amazing condition. sometimes, history makes me shiver.

That’s it! See you next week!
